Impact of fluctuating initial conditions on bottomonium suppression in 5.02 TeV heavy-ion collisions

چکیده

We compute bottomonium suppression and elliptic flow within the pNRQCD effective field theory using an open quantum systems approach. For hydrodynamical background, we use 2+1D MUSIC second-order viscous hydrodynamics with IP-Glasma initial conditions evolve bottom/antibottom wave packets in real time these backgrounds. find that impact of fluctuating is small when compared to results obtained smooth conditions. Including effect conditions, Upsilon(1S) integrated v_2[1S] = 0.005 +/- 0.002 0.001, first second variations corresponding statistical systematic theoretical uncertainties, respectively.

In-Medium Bottomonium Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions

We study bottomonium production in heavy-ion collisions using a transport model which utilizes kinetic-rate and Boltzmann equations to calculate the energy, centrality and transverse-momentum (pT ) dependence of the yields. Both gluodissociation and inelastic parton-induced break-up including interference effects are improved over previous work by using in-medium binding energies from a thermod...

Charmonium and bottomonium production in heavy-ion collisions

We review the present status in the theoretical and phenomenological understanding of charmonium and bottomonium production in heavy-ion collisions. Starting from an introductory historical perspective, recapitulating the basic notion of “anomalous quarkonium suppression” in heavy-ion collisions, we develop ingredients and concepts aimed at a comprehensive approach to utilize heavy quarkonia as...

Screening of initial parton production in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions

Screening of initial parton production due to the presence of on-shell partons in high-energy heavy-ion collisions is discussed. It is shown that the divergent cross sections in the calculation of parton production can be regulated self-consistently without an ad hoc cut-off, and that the resultant parton production and transverse energy production rate are finite. Consequences on the energy de...

Absorption and J/ψ Suppression in Heavy Ion Collisions

We discuss the J/ψ suppression in the framework of multiple collision models. From the analysis of the Pb–Pb NA50 data we conclude that the strength of the absorption has increased, but we find no clear evidence for the formation of the quark–gluon plasma. 2 The suppression of the J/ψ production in nucleus–nucleus collisions was proposed, more than ten years ago, by Matsui and Satz [1] as a sig...

Initial conditions and charged multiplicities in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions

At ultra-relativistic energies the minijet production in heavy-ion collisions becomes sensitive to semi-hard parton rescatterings in the initial stages of the process. As a result global characteristics of the event, like the initial minijet density, become rather insensitive on the infrared cutoff that separates hard and soft interactions. This allows to define a nearly parameter-free saturati...
